Excellent Brunch Spot. I've been here three or four times, and I have always left full and happy. Normally, I don't like going to the same restaurants over and over with so many choices here in the city. I always make an exception for Zazie. Thier Croque Madam is to die for! The french toast is also a favorite. I highly recommend the heated patio out back if it's available. This place is one of the things that makes the Cole Valley neighborhood so great!

Breezy Cole Valley bistro serves French-Cal cuisine to deal-seeking locals and brunch-hungry 'hood hoppers.. The Scene
A quaint Parisian vibe prevails--from street-side tables flanking the entrance to a mint-and-white tiled floor inside and framed French posters lining the dining room's brick wall. Beyond a semi-exposed kitchen awaits a two-tiered patio surrounded by flowers and foliage. Slightly quirky waitstaff provides upbeat service to a crowd of families and first dates.

The Food
Owner/chef Jennifer Piallat controls the seasonally updated elements. Menu items may include grilled mission figs with a jam-like center that burst atop wilted spinach and grilled bread spread with chilled chevre. A light white wine broth is loaded with dozens of tender mussels, while rich tomato sauce coats porcini-stuffed ravioli mixed with feta and tiger prawns. Caramelized apple slices sweeten a grilled pork chop for a hearty entree. A bowl of seasonal-fruit crumble is topped with creme fraiche, which is nice to enjoy any time of year under the patio's heat lamps.

great patio for evening. nice staff, gorgeous patio with heat lamps on chilly evenings. made reservations for 2 at 8:30pm, ran a little late, but all was ok, and we were promptly seated.

had the small salad with warm goat cheese, which was simple & excellent, but not worth it without the cheese. also had the salmon in cream tarragon sauce, which was ok. the salmon was incredibly moist, and the sauce wasn't too overbearing, but overall the taste was a bit on the bland side. my boyfriend had a beef stew dish, which was also good, but just ever so slightly bland.

overall, great restaurant, definitely worth checking out.

An Absolutely Amazing Patio!!. If you enjoy outdoor dining, zazie's is a must! By far my favorite eggs bennies in the WORLD! I highly recommend the Monaco.. paired with the mango mimosa...AND, you will breathe a sigh of relief when the bill arrives because you will be pleasantly surprised at how uncommonly reasonable the prices are. Zazie's is a hip place to be in cole valley.

A great find!. The four of us went to Zazie's last night. What a deal! For $20 each we had a choice of appetizer, main course and dessert. Everything was delicious. The sauce on the mussel appetizer was wonderful. The spinach salad was good. The bread delicious and warm. We tried the polenta, salmon and hamburgers. All were hits. Even the desserts were wonderful, especially the rubbard crumble!

Best brunch in Cole Valley, if not the city. Cole Valley is not the easiest place to get, but Zazie is worth the trip. There's always a huge wait for brunch. After you eat there the first time, you'll understand why. The guy who manages the waiting list on the weekends is the nicest dude and seems to know everyone. The ginger pancakes with pears is unbelievable. Here's a hint, take a seat at one of the sidewalk tables on a nice day to avoid the wait. I can't wait to try dinner here.

brunch outdoors is worth the wait. I went to Zazie for a Saturday brunch for the first time in late spring. I was pleasantly surprised that the wait was minimal for a table for 9 of us outdoors. The service was good, and everyone was happy with their food. Even if the food and service were average, the tables outside on the small patio are well worth waiting for on a sunny day, and a good taste of the city in general.

zazie a European touch in my neighborood. Every Tuesday you can bring your own wine for free and pri fixed menu is just 17.50.

I love their mussels ad they humbergers. I still have to try the rest of their menu.

Service is great. There was such an accomodating girl and I guess the owenr was sweet as well. We sat in the garden and had a romantic kind of French dinner. The only thing is that I would recommend some sor of tablecloth for outside if you want to be really european,the tables were a little bit sticky and I didn't know were to put my silverware. I loved it !

Nice French Restaurant.. Cute little place. Friendly service, but a bit SLOW. Food portions are tiny compared to the American standard, but that is assumed because its FRENCH. Pricey items are good, but not spectacular! Ambiance is nice, its is a little fake, but nice none the less. Tables are small and none of my party was overweight. VERY CRAMPED.

TERRIBLE RIP OFF!!!. I had lunch at this place once, ordered a tuna sandwich - price was around $10.00. I was expecting something really special, had heard goood things about the restaurant. I was shocked when my food came. The sandwich was this tiny, dry, overcooked, bland tuna steak in between 2 pieces of even drier toasted bread. I think there was some greens on the side - supposed to be a side salad. I had to use these greens to dress the plain sandwich otherwise it would have been so dried out I might have choked on it. It was so awful, such a rip off, I honestly think this is the most overrated restaurant I've ever been to.
