The Scene – A quaint Parisian vibe prevails--from street-side tables flanking the entrance to a mint-and-white tiled floor inside and framed French posters lining the dining room's brick wall. Beyond a semi-exposed kitchen awaits a two-tiered patio surrounded by flowers and foliage. Slightly quirky waitstaff provides upbeat service to a crowd of families and first dates. – – The Food – Owner/chef Jennifer Piallat controls the seasonally updated elements. Menu items may include grilled mission figs with a jam-like center that burst atop wilted spinach and grilled bread…
Best Brunch in SF
by MNKH
Zazie's is always worth the wait. Brunch is so good, that I usually end up ordering multiple breakfast items out of pure indecision. The gingerbread pancakes with poached pears and lemon curd are to die for, and on the savory side, the range of poached eggs are cooked to perfection. Unlike most breakfast places that serve food you could cook in your kitchen (if only we all had the energy on a Saturday morning), Zazie's serves up food for a reasonable price that is beyond most people's cooking abilities. Perfectly balanced, fresh, and tasteful, this spot never ceases to satisfy the palate.
Great Brunch Place with unbetable ambiance
by chocolorac
Zazie has become one of my favorite brunch places. It's a great place to enjoy the patio setting, esp on a sunny day. The choices are relatively simple, but made ample with their "une, deux, trois" choice. The wait can be long, but there is the Boulangerie or Tully's at which you can enjoy the wait with a morning paper, good book, or with good company.
- Pros: Great Outdoor Seating, Cozy ambiance
- Cons: Expect to wait, Not recommended for big groups
Good food, poor service
by dpao
Chicken sandwich during lunch was tasty, but waitress was quite rude. Floor plan was very cramped and bathroom was a closet with an incomplete latch.
- Pros: Palatable Food
- Cons: Rude Service
