Good Late-Night eats.
This cute little Thai eatery used to be an SF flat, and you can still tell. There's a fireplace, an odd flat-like layout, and a view of Haight.
Food is good and reasonably priced. (most things under $10.) They have a specials list that went on and on. Last night it included deep-fried pumpkin.
The drunken noodles with shrimp were good, but I asked for spicy, and I don't think they believed me. The cashew chicken is also good.
Great place to eat fast if you're looking to catch a show around the Haight Street area.…
OH MY..... So, I've always had fairly ambivalent feelings about Thai food UNTIL....Ploy 2. Oh my, this stuff is really good. I recommend the Coconut/Lemongrass/Prawn Soup and the Pad Thai is not overly greasy...just right. I've moved a twenty minute drive away but I still make the trek for this absolute amazingness...…
pass. i tried the flat noodles and they were sub par. service wasnt that great either. on the good side..the price is cheap.
Best Thai in the City!. This is the best restaurant! The service is excellent, the ambiance is romantic but not stuffy. My favorite dishes are the lemon chicken and honey roasted duck. A must dine at restaurant!!!
Still the best.... As a fan of SF Thai food, I agree that this place is still the best. Friends/relatives who prefer blander food will struggle here. I live in the Sunset with several solid Thai places within two blocks, and I still make the 20 min. trek to Ploy II as much as possible. The mango curry prawns are probably my favorite dish in the universe. The coconut/lemongrass/seafood soup is perfect for foggy cool days. Never have I sampled such a breadth of dishes at a place and NEVER been disappointed. Good date place, especially if you can get a window seat overlooking the interesting life on Haight street. What can be more Haight-Ashbury than eating sinfully scrumptious food while overlooking hippies hocking Humboldt Homegrown on the vibrant street below? The food, service and setting all exceed the cost.…
