Avoid the young girl baristas. This place is great when they have good service, but there is a couple girls particularly one that glares at you as if to say "how dare you enter"! She doesn't even try to be friendly, glares at you like she is going to scratch your eyes out. She has been there for a long time. I live in the neighborhood and multiple people have told me the sole reason they don't go is because of the bad service and particularly this girl. They don't want to deal with the attitude and it ruins the whole experience. I went in for a cup of tea, the guy didn't bother asking me what kind I wanted and just picked one for me. I am not that picky and love tea so I didn't care. But when I tried it I threw it out. It was the worst tasting tea I have ever had. It smelled like fish!! If they really care about getting and keeping business they need to hire new staff.

Is there a secret handshake?. I really want to like this place, as the coffee is quite good, and the sidewalk seating on a sunny day is nice. However, I go elsewhere as the service on multiple occasions was beyond surly and rude. That's just too much first thing in the morning.

Nicely Nestled. This place has a wonderful atmosphere. Great little neighborhood get away. Nicely nestled between duboce park and lower Haight area.
