I've been seeing Dr. Morris for my 3 pets for the last 3 years. I really enjoy the visits when I see him...but there's the rub. Since his office isn't open on weekends and he's out on Thurdays, I am almost NEVER able to schedule an urgent (but non-emergency) appointment with him. This means that my pets see him for their annual exams, but when a health issue inevitably comes up, I'm forced to go to another clinic that can squeeze me in within 1-2 days.
Personally, I didn't like Dr. Leyba's beside manner when I saw him 3 years ago (I think it's just a personality thing), so the fact that I will see only Dr. Morris doesn't help the situation either. If I could get an appointment when needed, I would probably give SF Pet Hospital 5 stars.
Best Vet in SF, Look no further!

GREAT Staff. Responsive, friendly, they really care about your pet., with a gentle demeanor. Reasonable pricing, good diagnostics. Friendly, small, attentive office. I see Dr. Morris for my cat, but everyone there is fantastic. They always remember us between visits, and are very professional in the front office.
- Pros: Friendly Staff, GREAT VETS! Treat your animal very sensitively, Good info on boarding too.
- Cons: Parking takes a minute, but not too bad. It's worth it!
Best Vet in the City for sure! First vet to accurately diagnose my cat in 2 yrs!

If you live on the presidio side of the city or anywhere near Geary, this is a no brainer. Dr. Morris is compassionate, has lots of experience, and his staff is super friendly. They are a small attentive office, with reasonable rates, and go above and beyond the call of duty for you. (They opened up after closing once when I got there late, to get food for me. They gave me a small bag of food free of charge one time, just to see if my cat would eat it. ) Super professional and make you feel great, when answering questions. Very gentle with the animals too.
While other vets left me with an "I don't know what to tell you" - my cat had been getting sick immediately after eating for 2 years straight, and lost so much weight it was looking dismal. Dr. Morris was SUPER gentle with my cat (who hates the vet) and made him comfortable. Spent an hour with me in the office, during a busy time, like it was nothing. He sticks with it, puzzle solving with the same info other vets had, but he solved the issue.
After thoroughly examining all the tests other vets had given, and the ingredients of different foods my cat ate, Dr. Morris was able to isolate an allergy to a commen ingredient of foods other vets had recommended, that was making my cat sick. My old cat is happily eating his new food, with the help of a little tummy medication - he is happy, healthy and cruisin again after 2 yrs of misdiagnosis! SF Hospital web site has some great links and info too. Run, don't walk to this hospital, they are fantastic!
- Pros: Reasonable Pricing, Great and friendly staff, super sensative to animals, GREAT VET!
- Cons: Location is off the beaten path a bit, parking takes a minute or to, but it's completely worth it!

My dogs have been treated like family for the 6+ years we've been going to this fantastic vet. Dr. Morris is absolutely great and always takes the time to discuss the various treatment options. His staff is professional, courteous, and kind.
- Pros: great staff, good prices
- Cons: parking, no weekend hours
