Graced with nautical porthole windows and balcony handrails, the Ocean Park was honored by the Art Deco Society in 1987 for preservation of
this Streamline Moderne beauty.
Now surrounded by a quiet residential neighborhood, the Ocean Park is operated by second-generation owners Marc and Vicki Duffett, who feel genuine pride and affection for this Art Deco landmark.
In keeping with its romantic past, they have installed a secluded outdoor hot tub in one of the gardens, and Ocean Park is still a great spot for drinking champagne at midnight.

Best low key place to stay in SF. Our second time here and will keep coming back. Beautiful place, love that they kept the 1930's architecture and character such as the lovely tile in the bathrooms. Yes the bathrooms are small but people back in the 30's were not as big as we are today, plus they only used them to take care of business and get out. Nice and quiet neighborhood, even with the L line coming by. We didn't use the earplugs provided, I find the lightrail sound soothing and part of the SF experience. You won't find a quiet like this at a downtown hotel that is for sure! The free parking is the cherry on top, and the staff is very helpful.
Deco fans will find real value at this historic motel..
In Short
The second-generation owners have upgraded the property while maintaining such original features as porthole windows and balcony handrails. Deco touches also remain in the guest rooms and suites, where cedar paneling adds to the ambiance. Some accommodations come with full kitchens. The motel is in a residential area a block from Ocean Beach and the Zoo, and the vibe is definitely family-oriented. Shielded by a lattice fence, the outdoor hot tub is fitted into a pretty tiled patio.
