The owners of this jewel-like restaurant work exceedingly hard to produce the finest, freshest, and tastiest Chinese food in a City that prides itself in ethnic restaurants. The chef is an artist and magician. His wife, who runs the front of it, is gracious and amiable, and based on what their daughters have accomplished, a tiger mother as well.

I have been dining at Kathy's for over 15 years and always been amazed at the quality of the meals there. The reviewer who was disgruntled about service may have visited when takeout deliveries had put a temporary strain on the waitstaff. Note that he said nothing about the food quality :)

Many different individuals have accompanied me to Kathy's. Without exception, they rave about the cuisine afterward. Laguna Honda is perhaps not the most convenient locality in SF, but the trip is well worth it. 5 stars!!

This is the best kept secret Chinese restaurant in the city.. This is the best kept secret Chinese restaurant in the city. We have been to a of chinese restaurants in the city, and we always compare Kathy's food, they are the best Chinese food in town. Kathy's is our barometer of what chinese food is all about.

Very honest people - We liked there food very much, we wanted to cater them for our daughter's birthday. The owner asked (after the food is cooked and delivered), how long is the food going to be eaten? Answer was 2-3 hours. The owner declined and said, "chinese food are to be eaten immediately after it is cooked". He then recommended other children's favorite food. It could have been big $$ for him, but he declined, which was very impressive.

This is our tenth year as regular diners.

Delicious and healthy!. My husband and I have gone to Kathy's about a dozen times now, often with friends or family. We all really like it. This is some of the best "light" Chinese food in SF, and we've tried a lot of places. It compares to Alice's, Eliza's and Eric's - super fresh with great, non-oily sauces and nice presentation. Try the Red Dumplings and the Ginger Eggplant Chicken. The service is prompt and courteous, and street parking is quite easy. My only (minor) complaint is they don't have brown rice as an option. Anyway, go there and enjoy!

RUDE UNFRIENDLY SERVICE. The food is ok, but their service is horrible. They havent a clue what customer service is, barely know their own menu, and I guess dont care about losing good customers.......which I cant believe, because the place isnt exactly booming....I will never eat there again. They don't give a cr@$p about their customers.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yum!!. Kathy's has spoiled us for any other Chinese food. The food is freshly and expertly prepared with delicate sauces. The Walnut Shrimp are the best I have ever eaten. Everyone I take there becomes a regular customer. The decor is very tasteful and pleasant.
