Warning Hostuile Staff.
STAY AWAY, I remembered when my dad had his VCR fixed several years ago, and they broke a part of the VCR while fixing it, refused a refund. I remembered their were intense verbal exchanges between my dad and their employees, Including cursing.
Really, not reliable, not responsible for their actions
Better Bizness Bureau rates this crapshack a D-
I don't know what the last guy was talking about.... but.... I thought Art's TV repair service was great! Granted, the guy who came out wasn't fluent in English, but he's not here to talk the talk.. he's very efficient with handling the TV, and works very quickly. He diagnosed the problem and fixed our DLP like new! We called him ahead and informed him that we thought it could be a ballast issue (a circuit board issue), so he brought the part with him when he came out. He also traveled from SF to Novato. You can't judge a book by it's cover! If you just want a tv repairman to come and repair your tv, I would highly recommend this company. His prices were reasonable too.
My bad experience.
Hi. I scheduled a repair on my DLP TV, told the operator that I needed a new bulb (a common repair with this type of TV), and set up an in home repair window between 10am-1pm Saturday (the only available time that would not conflict with my work schedule).
On Saturday, I called the listed phone number at about 10:30 am to see if they could give me a better estimate of when the repairman would arrive. I was told that the repairman had left, and would arrive shortly. They did not arrive until 1:30 pm (half an hour late).
They looked at my TV for about 5 min, then told me it needed a new bulb. It would take 3-4 days to arrive, and then I would have to set up another repair time.
I told them five days prior what the problem was, why didn't they bring a bulb with them? Why were they 30 minutes late?
Also, the repairman wasn't nice at all, and they left my TV turned sideways. Come on guys, at least leave things the way you found them.
Excellent service - home pick up and delivery. The power supply blew out on my TV after a power surge. I have an older Phillips tube set that weighs a ton. They came to the house, diagnosed the problem, took the set to the shop for repair and returned the set in less than a week. About a week later there seemed to be a picture alignment issue. They came out again, reset the picture with the remote control. I could have done it myself if I had known how. No charge. I could not recommend the service more highly. Communication over the phone was spotty depending on who answered the phone. But the repair work was top notch.
Clueless. Unfriendly help at the counter. Told me my Sony receiver repair was ready. I drove home, plugged it in - it was if no one had looked at it at all. I returned to the same unfriendly counter help. The 2nd time the repair was done well. I would go anywhere else. If some moron doesn't realize that they are in a service industry then I don't care to give my money to the company they work at. Much less have to make an extra trip. Whoever Art is, he should read the riot act to his help -
Unprofessional and incompetent TV repair service. Terrible, unprofessional, and incompetent summarizes my experience with Art's TV service center in SF. The Better Biz B rates Art's TV as 'UNSATISFACTORY" and I found out why. They damaged my tv when trying to fix it and would not take responsibility. Unless you want to gamble with their bad service, avoid them.
Wow! Great service and very prompt. These guys not only took the time to fix the power on my 3 year old LCD TV but they also took the time to solder some parts and calibrate the LCD to make the picture look better and brighter! They did this all within 40 minutes at my house. Arts TV sent 2 technicians to my house and the work was done very fast. They are reasonably priced and very kind and also took the time to explain what they did to my LCD TV. I am very confident in their services and will only use them in the future. If you have anything that needs servicing, this is the place to bring it to.
No communication skills, no record-keeping.
After a power surge that damaged my home theater system, I was directed by Sony to have my equipment repaired here. It appears, after taking a week to "repair" it, they didn't do a thing. I had to insist they tell me what they did to fix it and they couldn't. After everything, they had no idea what the original problem was. I asked them to hook up a vcr and dvd player to WALK THEM THROUGH THE PROBLEM that I had explained a week prior and repeat over and over again that I had already tried all their ideas on fixing it through the unit's settings (IT WAS A POWER SURGE/SHORT!)
Language barrier aside, these guys don't seem to listen. They don't record detailed information on original problems or keep good records of "tests" or "repairs" they claim to have done. I would never recommend this place for newer equipment repairs and will complain to Sony as well about this being the only certified repair shop in San Francisco.
If Arts TV can't fix it, no one can.. Excellent quality service. Quick and reliable. I called in for a house call and they came to my house 2 days later. They fixed my sony plasma and it has been working beautifully ever since. I highly recommend them.
They can fix all problems. These guys have been around for over 15 years and are the most experienced technicians in the entire Bay Area. I've had them repair my 42in Sony XBR and an Pioneer Amp. I was quoted within 2 days and had it fixed less than a week later. Since then my TV and Amp has been working flawlessly. (Its been nearly 2 years since I had them repaired). These guys are quick, polite, and informative. I wouldn't trust my electronics with anyone but Arts TV. I highly recommend their services.
