I'm delighted to say that I'm totally impressed with Safeway. Brought home 2 excellent pre-made salads from their deli isle.  I was on a look-out for good tasting foods as I'm going to be throwing a company picnic soon and we want nothing but excellent food.  Since we're going all out with Prather Ranch grass-fed, no hormone yada yada porterhouse steaks, all organic side veg dishes, desserts etc., my partner felt we could maybe scrimp on the cold side dishes a bit, as long as they still taste good.

Well, we found a broccoli salad; with raisins, red onions and maybe bacon.  I'm not a big fan of broc, but this salad was excellent!  It will definitely stand-up to the stronger tasting meat dishes we're planning to serve, as well as the grilled garlic and butter portobello shrooms.  Dirt cheap, btw at $2 or $2.50 a pound(?)  Also found a potato salad with bleu cheese at maybe $3 a pound.  Very good too.

I'm delighted to say that I'm totally impressed with Safeway.  I had no idea I could find something decent there.  1 less star for the less than stellar, just shuffle you along counter service.
