I got maybe $30 for about 10 pieces..
Oh, this place bought a bunch of clothes from me, designer stuff too, back in the day when I was completely broke. I got maybe $30 for about 10 pieces. That's a jip.
I suppose it's a good place to shop at though, a lot of nice stuff.
I knew I loved this place when....
I found a blue satin Betsey Johnson dress that Im sure was from this years line for $65. Not sure why anyone would want to give this gorgeous frock up...but it's mine now!!
I love going into Crossroads because they always have the best labels, and an especially great shoe selection. And I personally like to trade my stuff in because its good for the environment. I just hate to toss it into the landfill.
Whether you work 9 to 5 or party all night, you'll find clothes for any occasion at this thrift superstore..
In Short
Contemporary and trendy, the clothes at this thrift store are always in perfect condition and reasonably priced. Though most of the goods are bought from the public, this place gets about 20 percent of its merchandise from wholesalers. So, unlike other thrift stores, it offers some products in a variety of sizes. The staff's pickiness is a virtue to the shopper, but if you came here to sell your beat-up plaid pants, you'll be disappointed with the price you're offered.
Great place but beware of buyers. I love this store and have been buying and selling for years there, unfortunately today had a very bad experience with one particular buyer (she has been rude in the past but was worse than usual today!). If you don't enjoy being glared at and not spoken to and being made feel like you crawled out from under a rock, cos your clothes just aren't good enough!! Please think twice before you waste a lot of time waiting and then go home with everything you came with! Awful customer service.
Great finds, but horrible customer service. good selection of contemporary fashions, but if you're looking for someone to ring you up, don't expect the snobby sales clerks to help - they'd rather chat with each other. i waited patiently at the register, while two sales clerks completely ignored me. every crossroads i have been to has featured a staff of rude and stuck-up fashionistas.
Sellers beware, PICKY!.
If you're trying to sell your used duds take heed! This place is very picky. Basically, they want items that you are probably still wearing! This, however, works great if you're a buyer!
If you've recently lost/gained weight or have access to samples of current trends then this place would be okay to sell. Still, you don't get much more than if you sold your things at a yard sale, actually, you'd probably make more that way, but this way you avoid the hassle and inconvenience of hosting a sale.
Also, the place is not that big and the aisles get crowded. This is not unusual for SF, though.
BUT, if you're looking for the classic downtown-sf-financial district-biz-casual-but-trendy-on-the-weekends-girl-on-a-budget-wardrobe then girlfriends this is your place.
Sine qua non?
Recommended for buyers, but only a select group of sellers.
