Worst customer service EVER. We were celebrating my daughters B-Day last night and a friend came at the end of the meal, due to very bad traffic from the East Bay. He wanted to order some rolls and the server said , "Aren't you done?". I said no that he wanred to order some items. She said the there were 3 people ahead of him. He was sitting at our table and we had just had spent $125.00. She did not serve him. I will never come here again and no one that I know will ever. I have never meet someone so rude and self judgemental in my life. They can go broke and shut down for all I care now. That is not how you treat customers at all.
Great sushi and entrees. I've eaten here several times, and the food has always been d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. Fresh and great tasting, and consistent every time. I will always recommend this restaurant!
Great Inexpensive Sushi.
This is a cool little spot to grab some sushi and get a little lit. The sushi is amazingly cheap and still really fresh and tastey.
I reccomend getting a bottle of Nigori (unfiltered sake) it's only like $7.00.. delicious and you'll end up pretty buzzed with 2 people.
After you're done, walk on down to the fish bowl like 5 doors down for more drinks and a kickin jukebox.
Cheap Sushi. Limited seating, and menu is limited to a large variety of sashmi and sushi. Chose this restaurant based on Zagat's review. The fish was fairly fresh, and our experience with the wait staff was no where as bad as previously reviewed. Pricing is very, very inexpensive. Portion size was average. I would go back but certainly would not go out of my way to eat there again - unless I had an extreme craving for large amounts of raw fish.
ZOMBIE-LIKE SERVICE. Sushi was ok, service was terrible. The waiter dragged his feet and even though we were virtually the only people in the place right at opening time, we sat there for a good ten minutes before our drink order was taken and then another ten before our food order was placed. The food was great, the service slow and indifferent.
OK Sushi Poor Service. Very small, so if you can't be seated right away expect a long wait. Even after being seated, if it's busy expect a long wait. The wait staff was indifferent. Two other parties that were seated AFTER we ordered, had their food before we did. When we finally complained about that, their response was, "Oh". Your best bet is the sushi bar to bypass the incompetent wait staff. If you stop by and it's busy, it's not worth it. If it's not busy, then you get OK sushi. Not great not bad.
Great casual sushi place ....
I've eaten here about 10 times, and I've had excellent experiences with all the sushi i've had. If you know what sushi and sashimi are supposed to be, then you will appreciate this place.
A couple things that i've come to expect from this place is that its not that big inside, so sometimes there may be a wait. Second, the last couple times i've been there, there have been very annoying 'marina-ish' ppl who were loud, obnoxious, rude, and just inconsiderate of others except themselves.
not worth it. if you're craving sushi, this is not the place to go. Absolutely horrible service; they do not accomodate to-go orders at all. the sushi is fishy at times. not worth it even if it is a bit cheap... you get what you pay for. I'd rather spend a $1.25 on one piece of FRESH sushi from the fish market on Irving than to eat here and endure the horrible wait staff service. they know nothing about how to run a restaurant.
Pac Heights sushi spot serving bargain rolls in bare-bones environs..
In Short
A mural of Godzilla busting through San Francisco monopolizes one wall, while black tables fill the rest of the space. Tall chairs line the sushi bar, which features an overhead mirror -- affording patrons a bird's-eye view of their meal in the making. A white board lists daily specials and the menu features everything from saba nigiri (mackerel) to rolls that include the kamikaze (tuna, avocado, scallion) and the unq-q (barbecued eel, cucumber).
Sushi- Not all its cracked up to be. There are many fantastic sushi places in the city I have tried. I have always heard about Godzilla, so I gave it a try. The sushi here ranks below all the others. The sushi was a little fishy and the rolls were nothing spectacular. The atompshere was not exciting. The wait staff seemed to be overwhelemed even though the place wasn't entirely full.
