Classic bistro fare with a twist, like mussels with green garlic, Pastis and preserved lemons.

Great food. The restaurant was noisy but food was great.

I had pumpkin pasta ($14) which was just 6 pieces but it was the best pasta I've ever had. My husband had a steak with fires ($24) which was a big portion.

I care quality more than quantity.

I would go back and try different pasta next time.

Tiny Portions, huge prices, bland food. We've been there a number of times when we are in a time crunch but we have left disappointed and still hungry. They have tiny pasta portions and they find it acceptable to place rolls of bread on the table to be eaten with their cheap-smelling olive oil. I ordered a soup that was none too memorable (too salty, actually) and we ended up going across the street for a milkshake afterwards, since we were still hungry after our $$$$ meal! The waiter we had was unkempt and kept bringing me a glass of water (with no ice) the size of a dixie cup, and when i noticed other tables were getting larger glasses of water with ice, i asked for that, and he begrudgingly brought it to me. odd, since we were ordering wine. Save your money unless you don't mind parting with your hard earned $$.

Well Below Average for San Francisco. With all of the other choices on Fillmore (and the city), this place should be on the bottom half of your list. The artichoke soup tasted like baby food, the pork terrine was flavorless, the gnocchi was bland with sauce that tasted like Chef Boyardee, and the bolognese was average. On the bright side, the decor was nice, the staff was friendly, and the wine prices were very reasonable. And, the warm chocolate cake dessert was good (but not spectacular). However, given the high price (for the food quality) and the tons of other choices in this town, we would not recommend Florio.

weird waiter. we had a very stange waiter. I think he said the word marvelous about 20 times. Some of the food was excellent, some was nasty. Nice ambience though

Perfect joint for 2. My girlfriend and I had just visited this joint for the special Valentines nite out, and Florio nailed it in every way! Starting with the food: For starter, we ordered 2 types of oysters from the friendly and knowledgable waiter. The oysters were fresh and the dip not overpowering. For entree, we had the steak frites for 2, along with potato puree and chard, all prepared to perfection. For the dessert, the bread pudding with gelato couldn't be a better treat to conclude this wonderful meal. I had other French restaurants in mind when I was making reservation for this busy Valentines, but I was glad that I made the right choice.

Always a winner. This is a perfect place for both a special occasion or even just a good night out. Ambiance is perfect if you like cozy, dimly lit surroundings. Food is always consistently solid, if not outstanding.

great prix fixe for $27. Florio offers a long-standing 3-course prix fixe every night for $27. Last night, it went something like this: crab cake appetizer (amazing, especially since Dungeness crab is in season), steak in red wine sauce, and a walnut tart for dessert. It was a great meal, but the walnut tart was, as all my dinner companions agreed, much too sweet.

A la carte entrees were $15-30, mostly in the $19-25 range. The table next to ours had the steak frites for two, which looked very yummy.

The service was friendly and efficient, but the tables are very close together (good for hanging out with friends, but maybe not so much for dates).
