Although I've yet to try the cuisine here, this place is super fun if you're into hookah. Grab a couple of drinks and enjoy one of their flavored hookahs. Be sure to pack a sweater because the smoking area can get cold!
Editorial Review. This Pacific Heights Mediterranean restaurant with ample, heated outdoor seating serves up kabobs, gourmet desserts and hookah.
Inattentive Service. The waiters were not attentive at all. We literally had to get up and find the waiter in the back and ask him for whatever we needed. The portions were super small and were not very flavorful.
Avoid this place EVERY day of the week. We came to eat here on a night when there were absolutely no other customers in the restaurant... the owner/waitor had a table of his friends in the back of the restaurant and seemed completely inconvenienced to have to get up and serve his customers... we ALL ordered drinks and appetizers from him, and when one of my friends requested a glass of water, he started yelling at us. I kid you not... the owner of the restaurant was YELLING at us.. he told us that "people like you are why i lose money." the most insane part of this was that while he was taking our order, he was on his cell phone and wasn't writing our order down... we were so stunned by his behavior that we just sat there for a good few minutes in silence when he left... needless to say, we got up and left before he came back.
Don't Do It!. Terrible service, mediocre food, and an iffy atmosphere. I highly DON'T recommend this spot...Our waiter didn't listen, there were about 5 items that were on the menu that they 'didn't have that day' and it was just a bad dining experience in general. Don't do it!
good food, friendly staff, bedazzling bellydancers. The bad reviews on here must be really outdated, as I've always had a lovely time at this restaurant and have recommended it to many friends. I think the notorious previously mentioned far-from-pleasant manager is no longer at this Fillmore location. Rest assured that the staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and they even have bellydancers as entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. When it's busy, service can be slower, as there is only one server. But get there early or practice your patience and you are in for a delight.
Terrible Service and Food. Don't plan to have a good date here. The food is unflavorful with small portions and the service is awful. We felt rushed throughout our whole dinner and the expectations of the food were not met. Overpriced for what you get. Highly UNRECOMMENDED! With all the other amazing Mediterranean restaurants in the city, this one is not worth the time...
Humble yourself. Thought this place would be pretty good considering the good location and inviting decor outside. We were rushed to order. Hold on man! As soon as the major D(uface) brought us menus, he was back in less than a minute wanting to take our order. Gimme a minute, please! When he took the order, half of what appealed to us wasn't available. After our appetizers were served (please don't waste your money on that pitiful dribble of bread either), the main course was brought out less than 5 minutes later when we specifically requested that it not be served until we were done inhaling the meager appetizer. It's not like the table even had enough real-estate to accommodate the plates. Oh, and please don't wear those annoying clopper shoes on your tile floor. It's annoying to hear the sound of heavy wooden-heeled dress shoes clip clop around at dinner.
Price of the Mediterranean. With a boastful name like "Pride of the Mediterranean", this restaurant has not only shamed themselves but an entire region of the world. Overpriced and underspiced, this food was bland and tasted like it was boiled in a pot of water and rocks. Even the distraction of a belly dancer could not sway our attention from the flavorless meal. We each ordered a special, which was anything but... The price of the special far exceeded anything else on the menu. Please stay far far away from this vacuum of flavor.
Ripoff and poor service. During the Fillmore St. Festival we went to this restaurant. The hostess gave us the lunch menu with "lunch" prices. The food came and was burnt. The bill came with "dinner" prices. The owner said it was a "holiday" and they were not serving lunch and the wrong menu was given- too bad. Rather than offer to adjust the bill or see how they could give us good customer service they said tough luck basically. Upon leaving the hostess just stood there and didn't thank us. Seeing as there was only one other customer in the whole place they should figure out that they are doing something wrong. Do not go here unless you want to witness a restaurant with the worst service in the city!!
Cold Food/Beyond Terrible Service.
The service is terrible! On my visit the waiter/owner(?) was on the phone the whole time, my food was cold when it arrived. I was unable to get the waiter/owners(?) attention from his phone call to ask for something additional.
Finally, after 15 minutes I managed to get his attention to ask for my check. He brought it over with the phone still attached to his ear! I do not understand how that place stays in business.
