The very best macarons this site of the bank - NOT!.
The very best macarons this site of the bank - NOT!
I have no problem paying exorbitant sums of money for macarons, but only if it's worth it. This place definitely isn't.
My husband said he heard good things about the chef, that he has exacting standards, etc., so I went there this past Sunday and what I saw were shelves that were empty, save a couple of slices of tarts, boxed macarons, and a whole princess cake.
When I ate one at the car, I was sadly disappointed that the center was hard, rock hard! Hmm, over-freezing for one could cause this.
Sad, but please do better with your quality control. Otherwise, don't bother staying open in San Francisco, as we have very high standards here, and blah just isn't good enough.…
Best Croissants in SF. Forget Tartine and Boulange de Cole/Polk/etc., for croissants, brioche, danishes, this is the best in the city. The croissants are light ariy and have tons of butter. I once saw Rene making them, the butter content is unbelievable! I also enjoy his eclairs and napoleons. I can't understand why more people don't know about this bakery.…
Sugar Plum Dreams. My mother and I have been fans of Rene and his cakes for years!! My mohter LOVES his strawberry cakes while I say you can't miss with a fruit-filled white cake with whipped cream frosting...UMMMMM! I aslo recommend the apple turnovers, for those mornings when nothing seems to be going right.…
order your next cake here!. Tarts, cakes, croissants, brioche, chocolates, quiches...Everything is good at Delanghe's. The best patisserie in SF (and I am not saying that because I am French)
