The Scene – Just off of busy 24th Street lies a small hair salon that commands a stretch of sidewalk. A large neon sign sits boldly on the window, and from outside it seems no one is home. Inside, there's activity brewing from one man and his staff. Meet Lynn Adams, one part colorist, one part stylist, one part receptionist and sole owner of this traditional-looking salon. It only takes a second to survey the place. Three chairs, each assigned a large mirror, and pale walls with framed flower photography are the only decorations. – – The Services – Having been in the…
I Found Her
by kelwill
I FOUND HER!!! I had been going to Cathy for a few years, then left the city for awhile. When I came back it took me awhile to find her. I did and I am so happy. She is great with curlyhair. I trust her completely, and when I need advice on products or how to control my crazy hair, she always helps me with great advice. Oh and by the way, when she does my hair IT's NOT CRAZY BUT BEAUTIFUL
- Pros: She really cares
- Cons: She's getting busier
GREAT COLOR!!! And Love My Haircut
by Katwal
Cathy has been doing my hair down the street at Isa's before, then I heard she moved. I moved with her. She has always made my hair looks sooo HOT, and I trust her with my color ( and I'm pretty picky). She also lowered her prices, which makes me love her even more. If you want to go to someone who really cares about your hair I recommend CATHY
- Pros: Get a hot color that looks so natural.
- Cons: none really
Best walk-in haircut in SF
by cme123
I was visiting SF from Pittsburgh for Pride a few weeks ago. I always cut my own hair, and haven't been to a stylist in 7 years. I have a sort of fohawk-flock o' seagulls hairstyle, and it's very unique. I went in to Heads Up and asked if I could use their clippers and DIY, which is a CRAZY request, and of course they couldn't let me do that...but then I said, OK, well, can you trim this up? Lynn gave me the best salon haircut I have ever had. He really liked my unique hairstyle and was friendly, and chatted the whole time, but kept cutting my hair. He's a total sweetie and a really good stylist, and the price was affordable--on a Pittsburgh budget. If I'm back in SF needing help with my 'do, he's my go-to-guy. Oh, and I'm a girl. I was the only girl in there and he treated me like a queen.
- Pros: Great people, excellent service, salon was clean and colorful
- Cons: I walked; street parking might be spotty
