In Short
Featuring a mini-library of over 800 bargain-priced used volumes arranged by subject and a simple cafe menu of bagels, grab-and-go breakfast items and daily hot offerings like lasagna and mousaka, this Castro hangout straddles the line between old-school coffeehouse and secondhand bookshop with graceful aplomb. Large windows bestow natural light upon patrons working and conversing at the closely arranged tables. Wireless Internet access attracts work-at-home types and others tethered to their portable computers.

I love this spot. My favorite coffee shop in my favorite part of the city. The owners (Reham and Joel) and their staff (Jamie, in particular) are super friendly. I'd been living out of state for ten years in a city that had excellent coffee houses in spades. I was disappointed upon first moving back to The City. It was only by chance that I found Morning Due and I'm very happy I did. It has a nice, comfy, refreshingly unpretentious atmosphere that suits me. Other spots close by just seem too-cool-for-school if you ask me. It is what it is...a nice place where you can chit-chat with friendly staff and clientele but also really buckle down and get some things down when you have to. Morning Due's a gem.

Pros: great atmosphere, great staff

Cons: if you drive there, parking's a pain in the a$$. neighborhood meter-maids love their jobs waaaay too much

The coffee is great and the selection of patries are wondeful. I love the buttery coffee cake with a nice cup of coffee to start the day or a toasted bagel and cream cheese. The music is not loud and you can relax and surf the web or read one of the many books they have on the wall. As a matter of fact, I purchased a wonderul book that was over a 100 years old in excellent condition. The high ceilings and large open windows letting in the outside fresh air is so relaxing. The staff is always helpful and keeps the coffee fresh. The ownders and family are very friendly and olnly adds to the beauty of the place. Wondeful cafe for a relaxing day/night. Also, internet available there through surf and sip.

Pros: Coffee, Location, Pastries

Cons: parking (if drive)
