better to Escape from New York Castro Pizza.
How freakin awful... I went there last night very hungry. I love Caesar Salad and saw on the board they make one. I was sooo disappointed, even the one at McDonald's is better. But I was hungry. There was only one romaine leaf and the rest iceberg only... with a big clump of something that was beginning to turn brown.
So I ate a little and decided to let them know as I was leaving. My friend and I went to the counter and I talked with the guy sitting behind the counter and he LAUGHED AT ME. I told him it was NOT funny, that the salad was horrible.
He told me it was my 'opinion'.... somehow I managed to say reality has nothing to do with opinion. The salad was bad.
What jerks. I will NEVER return and let my friends know too. It is not just that the salad suked, but that he did not care! I am a business owner and if my employee did that they would be gone!
Not NY Pizza. I moved to SF from NYC - this is not NY pizza. Not only is it not very good, it's hughly over priced.
East Coast transplants flock to this local chain for its earnest rendition of New York pizza..
In Short
The restaurant specializes in take-out and delivery, and has very little seating. Veering somewhat from its namesake genre, the take-out spot is best known for its "You Say Potato" pie, made with sauteed potatoes, roasted garlic, and pesto. Other specialty pizzas run the gamut from the "Big Meat Combo" to the "Veggie Lit," featuring part-skim mozzarella.
terrible service. I hate this place! Bad service and the pizza is even worse. Went here on a weekend and couldn't get anyone's attention.
My pizza was raw!. Not to mention that it didn't even look appetizing. I read the one review on this site and figured i would try it. What i got was a pizza that looked like some 3 year old slapped together and when i bit into it it was raw!
The best pizza in SF!. I had a chance to eat their chicken pizza, with a variety of other veggies. Two words. Great Pizza. They've got a coupon for an x-large on this site as well...which is what I ordered, except they didn't have a coupon at that time...fantastic East Coast style pizza.
