In Short
With lightly sponged copper-colored walls, sculpted metal counters, funky lighting fixtures and a high ceiling topped with a huge skylight, the atmosphere at Marcello's is bright and clean. Thin-crust pies with a slightly spicy sauce and cheese are available until the wee hours.

I love this place. It has a great location and always a variety of kinds of pizza. They also serve sandwiches, salads, and calzones. A bargain, great thin crust, and right outside the metro station.

Located in/on Castro, the festive energy and vibe on the streets (St. Paddy's day or otherwise) carries over into the little LITTLE restaurant. Friendly banter, casual conversations, laughs, flirty chatter. Stopping in here is just as fun as it is functional... The seats in the windows must be THE best vantage point for an ever-entertaining parade for people-watching (no, IN, not near, IN the windows, you'll see. HA!) Service-wise, the guy (owner?) running the register is friendly and light-hearted. Quick to offer substitutions or price-break when the pesto slice X craved for was sold out. They have a pretty extensive menu and toppings... some definite must try combinations, in my book ( www.marcellospizzasf.com ) The slice. Crispy, thin-crusted, foldable-holdable slices, potent garlicky goodness, generously smattered with chopped sun-dried tomato over spinach... Mmmmm, late night dance till you drop food ( but bring gum) Most definitely going back there again!

Best sauce in the city! It is all about the sauce! From a native Bostonian, this pizza is worthy of the East Coast.
