Love this place. I have been going to CAFE regularly in the last one year now and I simply love it. The music is repetitive but I love it. The drinks are strong and good and Louis (you will know who I mean once you go there) looks cuter by the day....If you are looking for normal gay guys and decent clean fun, come to the CAFE. lot of straight crowd also but cute gay guys too. Mostly invaded by asians but it doesnt bothor me. I love them and I love every one there. The people are friendly and I take all my straight friends there too. They love it too. Come to CAFE. see you there
younger crowd, great hang out bar. I think a lot of the older bitter queens are just getting irate. This place usually is for the younger crowd and is usually packed. I'm 26 and this really isn't my type of bar, but its the only place where you'll find men and women dancing in the Castro. The place is has no cover and EVERYONE knows it so if you don't like being crowed beyond belief, don't go on Fri/Sat. You'll find straight couples and a few gay boys w/ their straight girlfriends, not too many lesbians. The crowd is mostly gay boys 18-30 something, but everynight is different. If you go regularly, the music is repetative, but its current and you can dance to it. Hardcore ravers and house lovers will probably be dissapointed w/ the mainstream offerings. Drinks are priced fairly and strong! The bad thing about this place is how crowded it is.
Friendly place. met a lot of people at The Cafe. Good place to hang out. Music not that great tho. :)
cute boys everywhere. this is one of my favorite places to go to on a thursday night.
Great Castro Bar.
All I can say is that if you're going to go on a Saturday night, get there before 11. Otherwise there's no way you'll find any room to dance. Seriously, the dancefloor will have long stretched its boundries into the main area and there STILL won't be any room to dance.
If you can work your way out to the balcony overlooking Market Street, this is a great spot to enjoy a cigarette and to take advantage of the people watching vantage point.
For the Young and Virile. You gotta wonder how some of the boys get into The Cafe ... some of them look way too young. Of course, that's the appeal of the place ... a young, collegiate looking crowd that's ready to dance to the latest pop hits. Sure, the music isn't all that great, but this crowd is very forgiving. Drinks are standard, nothing that exceptional here. Thankfully, they've basically had the same staff for years, so if you want to be a regular, take the time to get to know them. You never know what kind of perks you might get.
