BEST PIZZA!!!. I love love love pizza. This is one of my favorites! I've been ordering/eating here for over 10+ years and the pizza stays the same. The crust is nice and soft, while crispy on the underside. The sauce is, what i think, makes the pizza. There is no other sauce like it! My favorite combo is "The Haystack" but the "New Yorker" and "Luigi" are always good alternatives! I will admit, however, the bottom of the pizza can get a bit soggy when pizza is delivered but the flavor does not change. If you can, eat at the restaurant. OH, try the antipasto salad...DELICIOUS!
Great Pizza. I've been ordering from Haystack for 8 years and heartily recommend it for consistently good pizza and service over the years. The pizza toppings are fresh with lots of options, great suggested combinations, and they even offer whole wheat pizza crust (which is a great option if you are into whole wheat). Much better than other Noe offerings, but really quite good in general. Service is great, they store your order info so repeat orders are very easy, and delivery is always within announced timeframes.
Don't forget the thin crust. Better than the usual chewy, heavy, doughy stuff people call pizza in SF. To be fair the crust was thin (as per request) which was good but the sauce was very less. Delivery was prompt and ordering online made the process very convinient. People were friendly over the phone, pizza still warm. Overall good for SF but don't expect NY style please. Ask for thin crust and extra sauce.
The New Yorker special is the real deal. Finally shut up your New York friends and their whining about pizza. The New Yorker special is better than Ray's in the Village. By the way they're called pizzas not pies. Fast delivery and they keep your credit card on file for easy ordering via your phone number.
Noe Valley pizzeria that's been serving Italian fare for more than 30 years..
In Short
Located in the heart of the 24th Street shopping corridor, this pizzeria and Italian eatery has something for everyone. The large menu contains an array of pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and salads, in addition to some hearty chicken and beef entrees like chicken picatta and veal parmigiana. The 14 specialty pizzas, including the "Jolly Green Giant," a pie with broccoli and zucchini, and the "Alexander," with sausage, salami, pepperoni and mushrooms, are standouts.
Gross. This pizza sucks! We ordered the pizza and were very hungry and ready to chow down. It was so nasty. We should have ordered Dominoes. There were 4 of us and usually we will go through a pizza like it is nothing. There were even leftovers and we through it away. Yuck!
Good stuff.. I usually order for delivery, rather than dine, but I have dined here a couple times. The staff/servers are friendly. The place isn't crowded (because most people phone orders) and it's a nice place to just hang out with some friends and eat some pizza. Price is reasonable too and you can order more than just a pizza. Places like these are way better than ordering pizza from a chain.
best pizza in noe. the title says it all. It does not mean much, as there is not too much competition. Noe valley pizza and cybelle's. It's homey, simple, no pretense place. Pizza is unexpensive: 2 item one-person pizza goes for $5. Fair enough for lunch. They deliver, of course. Or you can pick one up from the dubliner across the street and eat it there with your beer. Lotsa people do it, and the bar tender will phone in your order.
