Overrated. Go somewhere else.. I've tried to figure out the appeal of this place. Does the bun compliment what's inside? No. Is the beef moist, flavorful, and tender?No. The patties here are big and the buns are even bigger, but size does not a good burger make. I event went back a 2nd time to see if I was nuts. Barney's is consistent at serving up a mediocre burger.

Maybe it's that I lived in the midwest for two years, where steakburgers are plentiful and people take great care in slapping a perfectly cooked cut of meat on a bun with tomatoes, lettuce, and onions in a way that makes a delicacy out of what most people consider fast food, and i'm just spoiled.

For a good burger around here, I'd say your best bet is 1)the restaurant in the Palace Hotel (get it medium-rare), or 2)the $12 Kobe burger at Rogue Ale.

Not that great. The hamburgers here are decent, but smothered in something to give them a grilled/smokey flavor. What happens is the tast becomes overwhelming and you can't enjoy the burger. I'd recommend the burgers at Orphan Andy's on 17th just off Market over Barney's anyday.

Delicious!. They have a large variety of different burgers to choose from and they're all delicious! Also, compliment your burger with a side of curly fries and a strawberry milkshake! Make sure you come in real hungry because once you're out, you'll want to unbuckle that belt! I love it! Great service and friendly staff. Would recommend.

the best curly fries. They have the best curly fries- and I'm picky about curly fries! The burgers are great too. The portions are big- you totally get your money's worth!

A Darn Good Burger. Barney's is about the only place to get an actual gourment burger. They do it exactly right there. They use quality meat, and fresh, tasty toppings. It's the only burger place I know of in the Bay Area that puts out a top-notch product. Hands down my choice as best burger. The curly fries are excellent, and the ranch dressing they serve is unbelievably tangy.

amazing gourmet burgers. the best thing about Barney's is that you can go as often as you like and get a different type of burger everytime! where else in the city can you find a hamburger with ham, pinapple, and a yummy glaze? and the fries are in a category all of their own-- try the curly fries-- they are amazing

Simply the best!. Simply the best burgers in the Bay Area. Always deliteful decor no mater which Barney's you go to and very friendly service. And did I mention they have the best burgers?

BEST IN THE WORLD?. I have traveled to numerous parts of the world and there is no doubt Barney's qualifies as one of the best places in the world to enjoy hamburger fare.

Their menu is so diversified and can easily please everyone from carnivores to vegans. Prices are reasonable and service is usually great. Oftentimes we enjoy outdoor seating on a patio in the middle of busy neighborhoods.

Every guest I have taken to Barney's was pleased with the taste of the food.
