In Short
Those who revel in instant gastronomic gratification will appreciate the hand-to-mouth setup at this Japanese eatery. Freshly prepared rolls and nigiri displayed on kitschy miniature boats cruise by hungry diners, who wait to pluck up their favorite items before they get away. While the revolving edibles are the main attraction, a few standalone tables and traditional menu offerings like donburi, bento boxes and ramen noodles are also available.

Went here for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. While I've definitely had better sushi, there's just something nifty about picking up plates of sushi off little boats going around in circles. There were two chefs working the island that night, and we sat near one of them -- so we got first dibs on the stuff he put out fresh, which was great. One roll I really enjoyed was a california roll with spicy tuna (or it might've just been salsa), over it, and little sticks of crunchy dried potato scattered overtop (just be careful you don't stick yourself with a potato stick while you try to get one in your mouth...) Our tea and water was kept topped off very efficiently. The place was busy, though; we had to wait a few minutes to get adjacent seats, but when we left, there was a good line of at least five people waiting, and there were no seats open at all. The bill came out to about $50 for two people, tip included, which wasn't bad since we'd special ordered a spider roll, and besides that, we each finished off about six plates of sushi (which run from about a buck and a half to about three bucks). Definitely a worthwhile dining experience. But I wouldn't want to try to park in the area... PROS: Sushi! On Boats! For Cheap! CONS: Small restaurant, expect a wait. City parking is a nightmare.

I love this place! Their fish is always a wonderul quality and very fresh. It is truly the best I have had in the city. They do a great job with the non-fussy tradional maki and nigiri rolls, but always come out with something different and a little suprising. The staff, who are there every night, are unfailingly friendly and always around to get you another drink. Good hint: It's fun to grab whatever floats by you, but the sushi chefs will take orders and prepare things especially for you.

I love it here. Great service. I never see the bottom of my tea cup. The standard sushi fare that floats by is fabulous, but there are some really creative and tasty creations that always get me excited. Don't forget they're closed on Tuesdays. I always do that and it makes me sad.
