great finds at great prices. if you're willing to dig through and try on a lot of options (sizes here are inconsistent, as they buy from smaller designers), you'll never fail to find something unique and awesome - and usually for a much lower price than you would expect to pay. the style's a bit trendy, but they have some good basics as well. whenever i wear something from this store i get tons of compliments. plus, the staff are all really sweet.

San Francisco's best-kept secret for finding of-the-moment fashions without going into debt.. The Scene
This stylish mini-chain has three locations, all carrying the same trendy clothing. The Castro outpost has a more extensive selection for the fellas, while the highly trafficked, three-level Haight Street shop is geared toward the edgy female shopper. The hip staff is friendly and psyched on the clothing they are selling. Insanely cheap sales racks with items for less than $15 are in the back of each store.

The Goods
Affordable and fashionable day and clubwear for men and women. For women, 80 percent of the items look like BCBG knock-offs and sell for less than one-third the price. Must-haves include Cameron Diaz-esque Angel Jeans in pink, white and baby blue; and everyday, sexy T-shirts from Lani. For men, swanky collared shirts from Roar, baggy slacks from Spiewak, and campy slogan T-shirts with inscriptions like "Jerk" would do well in any closet.

Great Clothes, Great Sales. Very well-priced selection of distinctive, vaguely clubby clothes. Good stuff for both men and women.
