Schmidt's signature clean lines and ornamental, sculpted shapes--fine chocolate bowls, leaves, large seasonal icons, and extraordinary flower bouquets--are on display, and most are for sale. At much sweeter prices are the signature truffles, bars, turtles, caramels, chocolate bars and other bon-bons, available in gift boxes or from behind the counter.

Known for his egg-shaped truffles, Joseph Schmidt Confections are fun, decadent and so very good. Truffle flavors are many, including the fun Cherry Bomb. And one is more than enough -- at least at one time. If you want a classic truffle, with a slightly new look -- you can find Joseph Schmidt Confections between the Castro and Noe Valley. It's just a quick walk from the J Church & 16th St. stop.

the variety.. the helpful suggestions of the staff, the imaginative use and design of chocolate.. try coming to this store and not leaving with armfuls of chocolates.. a totally pleasant experience...

Joseph Schmidt has some of the very best high quality chocolates in the city. I love their truffles and the designs are just truly beautiful, and the taste is even better. They also sell gift boxes that are great gifts to friends, or even to yourself! I've read that they are now owned by Heresey's so let's hope quality doesn't fall.
