This beautiful exhibit hall showcases a panoply of Asia's most exquisite works of art..
In Short
East meets West, and always the twain shall meet at the Pacific Heritage Museum, a hub of Asian artifact and culture located at the base of the mighty Bank of Canton Building in the Financial District. The edifice, once a U.S. sub-treasury building, houses a variety of temporary exhibits featuring works originating from places such as the National Palace Museum in Taipei and the Center for the Pacific Rim at the University of San Francisco.
Beautiful Paintings by Chinese Masters. I've passed the Pacific Heritage Museum many times walking to work, and one day I decided to pop in for a look. What a surprise! First of all, the admission is FREE! Second of all, they currently have absolutely beautiful paintings (mostly watercolors) by several Chinese masters, both in the traditional style and modern style. One of the artists' works look very much like Modigliani's. All the pieces in the show are form a private collector and will most likely not be seen anywhere else. The show is up till June, but don't miss it--be sure to add this on to one of your museum visit days! Hours are 10-4 Mon-Fri.
