Disgusting. This place is disgusting - spend your hard earned cash elsewhere. Palio D'Asti cheerfully supports the abhorrent, cruel and agonising Foie Gras industry. BOYCOTT PALIO D'ASTI!

Give em the stink eye!. The maitre d was quite rude from the moment we walked through the door. We had a large group and we only went there because we had 2 gift certificates. They told us that we could only use one per visit even though we had a group of 8. The maitre d continued to give our table dirty looks as he walked by and greeted other patrons. They advertised on yelp that you would get a 4th course for free if you mention the ad and then when we asked about it the waiter said that they don't have anything like this. He denied it until our friend showed him on his iPhone. The menu was quite confusing because you have to order atleast 2 courses, however they don't tell you that you can only order from this, that and the other section. The waiter continually was saying you can't have that item and that item together. Then the food came out. The salads were worse than bag salad that has sat in the bottom drawer of your fridge opened for a week. The 4 people that ordered the "Seafood Special" were quite disappointed when the Sea Bass they ordered came out as Halibut and their mashed potatoes tasted like they were a pile of salt with a hint of potatoes. The Italian Chocolates were nothing to rave about. If you want to eat good Italian food in San Francisco don't eat here.

Authentic Italian Food. Lunch at Palio was definitely the highlight of my week. On Thusrday at around 1pm the place was very busy, but the front of the house staff was very professional and accommodating. I had a business meeting and hostess was kind enough to offer a private booth where me and my companion could enjoy a less noisy conversation. Table was large enough to fit my laptop, so I didn't have to remove it when the food was brought out.

Bruschette alla Primavera, which we had for appetizer was delicious. Lamb Tartar, fresh crab salad and fava bean ricotta spread on crispy crostinis - all complimented each other. It is amazing how one small dish could combine all of this exciting spring flavors!

For the main course I had a saffron seafood risotto, which was simply the best I ever had. I have made a risotto several times at home and after trying it at Palio,I my greatest wish was to steal the recipe of the flavorful lobster broth, which was essential component of this dish.

Our server made a very good recommendation on Sauvignon Blanc, which was not typically dry, but very well balanced and rather fruity. It went especially well with our seafood entrees. What made us even happier is that chef personally checked with us to see how we enjoyed the food. Definitely 5 stars.

Great Service you'll feel right at home just a lot more fancy!. I love Palio for happy hour for the amazing pizzas to nosh on while meeting new friends at the bar. Great financial district crowd always. Last night I went for dinner and who knew that a place in the financial would be so great on a FRIDAY night? I guess I am the last to know that this is the spot to dine in SF. Service was amazing, our waiter not only answered a bunch of questions on the new seasonal menu but made great recommendations on wine pairing as well.

TRY IT! Great for business or fun...

Not good for DINE ABOUT TOWN. "last night my family and I went to Palio's for the first night of Dine about Town. First off, their dine about town menu offers three choices (Fish, Meat, and Vegetarian). Seeing as I'm not a huge fish fan and I don't eat pork, and because no substitutes where allowed I was left with the Vegetarian meal. Our first course was about average, my fig and cheese spread was ok, nothing outstanding, and the Meat appetizer looked like cold cuts at a Superbowl party. Our main dishes, which came late, where underwhelming to say the least. The Polenta was drenched in a mushroom gravy. The spaghetti was bland and worst off all was the fish..it was so salty it was hard to eat... I ended up spitting it out! My mom had to down two bottles of water during dinner just to get it down... The highlight however, was dessert each one of us had a fabulous concoction. Also the service was good, but not enough for me to go back...."

This is the place!. This is the place! My husband and I come here at least once a month to enjoy the pizza and wine selections. The chef is always creating new delights to enjoy and the decor is simply stunning. I love it!

This fun yet elegant Italian restaurant woos downtown professionals with a spectacular happy hour.. Brilliantly colored heraldic banners flutter from the ceiling and metal horses gallop across the walls of this Financial District eatery that's a unique mix of Medieval Times kitsch and fine-dining establishment. At the bar near the front, cleancut businessmen sip classic martinis; across the hall, a wood-fired pizza oven churns out free pies for the hungry happy hour crowd that populates the restaurant every early evening. Lunch offers affordable antipasti and pasta dishes, while dinner is brings two-, three-, four- or five-course prix fixe menus, as well as the option of ordering a la carte. And while everyday dining is the main event, the spot is also spacious enough to host special events and big parties in a couple of back rooms.

Tasty meal, great service. We had a lovely meal here the other night. My friend and I met here for drinks at happy hour, which was great, and then continued our night there with dinner. The food was great and the service professional. I'll be back soon.

Love it!. Consistently great food, with even better service! The staff, especially the bartenders, are warm and friendly and always attentive. The wine list is creative and the pizzas are fabulous!
