The Best Cheap Lunch in the City. Yo Yo's is wonderful. I'm almost always out the door for less than $5 - and often less than $3! The soups are great and the service is fast. They've been there since 1988 and I don't think they've eve raised the prices. I suggest the soba noodle soup with extra tofu.
best cheap japanese in SF.
little hole-in-the-wall japanese place. it's only open a few hours a day, and don't let the long lunch lines scare you. cheap and good sushi, chicken teriyaki, and soup.
there's nowhere really to sit, so you'll have to take your food to the park or back to work. but the staff are ridiculously friendly. if you work in this part of town and haven't eaten here, you're missing out.
Jennifer and Jessica make this place!.
There's a lot of good sushi on and around Valencia Street. And a lot of good service. (Tokyo A GoGo, surprisingly enough, even though it has a high design interior, is surprisingly friendly.)
However, the top of the tops is Yo Yo's. The best service in town comes from sisters Jennifer and Jessica, who will serve up delicious sushi with fun conversation and a great sense of humor. Yo Yo is also a great place to take a big party -- it's rarely crowded, and their are plenty of tables to defeat the usual "sushi wait". Go there. Now.
Unbeatable for a quick cheap lunch. Unbeatable for a quick cheap lunch, Sobe Noodle soup and Teriyaki Chicken for about $5.
