Tips for Bauer's Intelligent Transportation

Awful--they tried to cancel. Beware-- apparently a contract doesn't mean anything with this company. Our impression was that these guys are rather sleazy salesmen who don't care about customer service.

We booked a trolley for my 30th birthday MONTHS in advance of the event date. Two days before we got a call to confirm and thought everything would be great. On the morning of the event, a different sales guy called and told us they were going to cancel! It was raining, and he said that there were no other options (no vinyl tarp to cover the trolley, no other shuttle bus, no other limo). I couldn't believe it! Thank goodness for the bartending company we hired (Drink Event Bartending--totally separate company from Bauer's; see my citysearch review). I called the owner of Drink and told her what the Bauer's guy said. She went down there early and set up in one of the trolleys that had a tarp around it. She basically had to camp out there all day to ensure that we got the covered trolley (after Bauer's told me they didn't have a tarp-covered trolley). If it hadn't been for Drink, my party would have been shot.

And then-- as a very funny ending, about a week after the event I received a call from a third party quality control company hired by Bauer's. Apparently they call customers and ask about their experience with Bauer, and I felt heartened that maybe Bauer's really did care about making their customers happy. I gave the guy a 20 minute diatribe on the shortcomings of Bauer, and he promised me that someone from Bauer's would call me to rectify this. I NEVER heard back from anyone-- not a peep from Bauer or the quality control company. In my opinion, not a stellar way to do business in a city where word of mouth means *everything.*

hmm. perhaps a communication problem but I was told that car would be available until a certain time then it was retracted
