In Short – When union members and their families endure a strike, a layoff, a disaster, or any other hardship, they can count on the AFL-CIO's community services program to help. The program, in conjunction with the San Francisco Labor Council and the United Way, provides information about and referral to resources in the community and also gives emergency assistance to local union members and their families.
