A rotating collection of affordable works by local artists, many of them first-time exhibitors.. In Short
City Art is a co-op gallery, meaning that the exhibiting artists--all local, most amateur--help run it. Located on a hip strip of Valencia, next door to Dave Eggers' hangout, City Art features a collection of urban and surprisingly sophisticated art; there's nothing pedestrian here. The gallery does not discriminate against any medium, be it sculpture, oils, etchings, lithography, photography or mixed media. The City Art motto, "accessible art," goes a long way toward explaining the gallery's appeal; affordable yet often excellent art in an unpretentious setting.…
