In Short – The owners call the concept a "sound bar," since Mix walks the line between a mid-sized bar and small dance club. This place is cool without trying too hard. Outgoing music lovers come here for nightly DJ entertainment--ranging from local heavyweights to up-and-comers--and admission is rarely more than $5 (if not free). Inexpensive cocktails and quality tap brews (Beamish, Death & Taxes) complete the experience.

big latino hand out, not good for gringos

I went there with a 40 person birthday party, got charged 8 dollars for a komakaze shot. Got asked to leave because I was "blocking the doorway" when I was thirty feet from the door sitting at the bar. I thought it was just me getting the feeling I was being discriminated against because I wasn't mexican, but my other friends had the exact same preception. This bar is a no for gringos and a go for cholos.

...because I just went there last night and it is *not* a sound lounge, but a Latin bar with a live band playing mostly merengue. And it's not a very good one either (try Roccapulco down the street with their live salsa).

good spot, good music, good drinks. not too many spots anymore with a good hip hop loungey feel. not much of a meat market (a plus)and there is always something to dance to or with.
