The perfect Italian deli and market. Reminds me of the Italian-American town my family lived in back east.

Tips for Lucca Ravioli Co

A little slice of North Beach thrives in the Mission at this small, old-fashioned Italian specialty market.. Locals maneuver the cramped space to fill their baskets with extra virgin olive oil, marinated mushrooms and cans of imported anchovies while waiting for their turn at the deli counter. Friendly staff in white butcher coats and paper hats field orders for New York sausages, fresh ricotta and loaves of bread. In the frozen section, pasta lovers stock up on the signature house-made ravioli and tortellini. A selection of Italian wines and coffees is also available.

Friendly quick service. Little Italy in the Mission. You pick a number, get called and make your selections. The meat filled tortellini is approx $8/lb, they have freshly made fettuccine and a couple of other pastas in the deli. In the freezer, you will find spinach, pumpkin and cheese filled ravioli and their pesto sauce. Lots of cheeses and Italian meats (proscuitto, salami) choices. This place reminds me so much of the wonderful North Beach delis from my childhood days, many which are gone now. The counter has 5 servers and they're all friendly and waiting to help you. I found a box of Italian soft nougat candy for almost $8, typically sells for $10 at Victoria's Bakery in North Beach. And they sell Liguria Bakery foccacia bread if you can't make it to North Beach to buy fresh yourself. You can tell the place is frequented by regulars because the staff knows their customers by name.

Homemade Ravioli!. I make my own sauce but love to stop here for the homemade meat ravioli when I feel like eating at home- it is so so so good! All of the guys behind the counter have always been incredibly nice and helpful too. it can get crowded but that just gives you a chance to browse the aisles. I usually end up buying more than I intend. Great place, great service, and great ravioli.

My Favorite Italian Grocery in the Mission. I've never been disappointed here! The meat ravioli is made throughout the day (they also have cheese and spinach) and is so wonderfully fresh! I love their meatballs and gravy (aka red sauce), as well as the different focaccia's. Lots of oils, pastas, and other Italian foods to choose from. You'll be served by a gentleman and never overcharged: the prices are fantastic. Get some pasta and some sauce to go, perhaps a sandwich or some bread, and you'll feel like you're eating at grandma's again! Bravo!

Fab.. Lucca has the best meats and cheeses. The raviolis and homestyle sauces make a quick and impressive meal for unexpected dinner guests. (I made them for my mother-in-law and she thought I was a genious in the kitchen.) Don't try and show up on sunday though, they won't be there.

Fabulous ingredients!. Old world deli with fabulous goods and fresh meats. Don't miss the seasonal ravioli, local and imported wines, good artisan breads, meats, cheeses, goodies, and a poem of approval (in Italian) from Lawrence Ferlenghetti over the door...

childhood memories. Lucca Ravioli Company has been around for years. It is the cusine I miss the most, you see I no longer live there, but I miss their marinara sauce and their spinach filled ravoli's. You cannot match the flavor anywhere else.
