We stuffed ourselves until we could do no more!!. A friend and I went in for dinner a few weeks ago. The atomsphere is wonderful and quaint. The host was very personable and she gave us a choice of where we wanted to sit. The server was nice and really went out of her way for us. Of course the meal and the wine were spectaular and we stuffed ourselves until we could do no more!! I will definetely be back many times and bring more people with me!!

new chef?. I had dinner there for the Thanksgiving weekend. Food was not as good as before. The only reason I gave 3 stars was the waitress.

Great Establishment. My aunt Cathie is the owner of this fine little resturant. She is a wonderful cook, and deserves creadit for all she does. I hope people enjoy this fine establishment. I have eaten there in 2000, and was highly impressed by the skill given to the meals.

Owners nefew- Former Bay Area resident, Bay area native- now in Colorado

The worst brunch in town!. I just visited Liberty Cafe last Sunday and found it to be awful enough to search out a site to write a review. I am a cook and a lover of food, especially breakfast food, and found the Liberty Cafe profoundly disappointing. There was a wait, which is to be expected on a Sunday morning, but we weren't even offered coffee for another 10 minutes after we were seated. The waitress, who was desperately trying to please and miserably failing, was flighty and seemed to serving the whole restaurant herself. She completely forgot my boyfriend's order and we had to practically get up out of our seats to get a refill of coffee. The worst was that I ordered eggs benedict, a brunch staple, and the eggs were nearly hard-boiled inside. After bringing this to her attention, she took the plate to kitchen, scaped off the eggs, and gave me back the same plate. A few minutes later, she brought me another egg in a cup. Worst of all, brunch for 5 with tip and without champagne, came to over $80. Acceptable for a good meal, but completely outrageous for an awful one. My advice, go to Savor on 24th Street, or even Welcome Home on Castro St.

A valuable culinary establishment off the beaten path. Liberty Cafe is like that standby outfit you have in your closet that is great for all occasions and makes you feel like a million bucks every time you wear it. My husband always goes for the potpie. Both the vegetarian and chicken options are incredibly well done and chock full of flavorful, fresh ingredients - served piping hot in a bowl you could swim in!

I enjoy looking through the menu to see what's new each month. From skirt steak to lamb to salmon -everything I have had has been beautifully executed and delicious. I clean my plate every time!

The staff is knowlegable about food and wine and they take great pride in providing diners with a memorable experience. Liberty Cafe is the kind of place you can take a friend to catch up on life or take out of town guests for a little treat in a part of San Francisco tourists rarely see (which is unfortunate because it's such a great neighborhood!)

Here's a tip for light eaters: Order one of their delicious salads and get the pizza of the month - you won't regret it!

Save room for dessert because there's always some kind of house made ice cream... my favorite was a mint chocolate chip a few months back (they used REAL mint!).
