Best Mexican north of the border!. Almost always fresh, hot and delicious, the food at this place is better than almost anywhere I've ever eaten Mexican food -- including Cabo, TJ and Juarez. Only in Nogales, did I encounter better food.
Tops- Best meat, efficient service. El Toro is the best. Why you may ask do I think so? Well, like its sister Pancho Villa, which is better known in the city, its fare is tops. What sets El Toro apart is the hot sauces. They are just a little bit better than Pancho and best in the city. The only drawback is price, which used to be reasonable, but was raised during the power crisis substantially. So even a burrito with all the trimmings can exceed $7.00. That's probably driven away some regulars who were used to eating at this fine taqueria for much less over the years. But I still go religiously for the hot sauce, its hand made from ground roasted chiles and can't be beat! Try it and see for yourself.
Top Taqueria. Owned by the same folks who run Pancho Villa Taquria, this somewhat more intimate version of the Mission stalwart, makes a superb alternative for buritto lovers who want to avoid the larger taqueria's assembly-line atmosphere. Just as with Pancho Villa, the tortilla chips and chile relleno burritos are standouts.
