Creative rolls, sake cocktails and a pulsating scene keep locals coming back to this sushi joint.

About Blowfish Sushi To Die For

  • Sushi
  • Appetizers
  • Hip, trendy atmosphere

Stylish sushi in an ambient, upbeat environment only scratches the edge of the Blowfish Sushi surface. Our creative rolls, such as the upcoming Toshi Koshi- which includes crab, spicy tuna and tempura pieces topped with seared albacore, avocado and wasabi tobiko- will challenge your definition of sushi ingredients while massaging your palette into various dimensions of bliss.

In October, 2007, Blowfish will be introducing a new menu with a more comprehensive wine and sake list, an enhanced cocktail selection, and an array of dazzling new rolls, appetizers, and desserts.

Attitude to Die For. My friends and I have been to Blowfish probably 100 times in the past 7 years. I live 1 block away. It was convenient and the sushi is good. We always tolerated the bad service and the attitude. Of the 100 times we've ben, we've probably had good service 20% of the time. Despite the frequency of our patronage we rarely got recognized by the staff and OFTEN waited 20-25 minutes (or more) for drink orders, the check, etc... and the attitude and aloofness was palpable. The last time I went I sat at the bar and a male bartender clearly seemed annoyed with us for no reason at all. We begged for drinks, opened our own Sake bottle (not twist off - corkscrew), and were pretty much ignored all night long- right down to waiting FOREVER for our bill. I told my friends "this is the last time...." It's embarrassing to bring in guests from out of town. I eat out 99% of the time and they have the worst service I have ever consistently experienced.

Do yourself a favor go to nearby Live Sushi Bar or Sushi Bistro and be waited on by people who smile with no attitude. The sushi at both places is excellent too.

and Blowfish... get over yourself.

don't, don't, don't, don't....don't believe the hype....

One of my favorite sushi spots!. Fresh sushi, in a super hip, trendy and cool environment. Japanese cartoonish art on the walls, and great music fill the room.

The sushi is all great and yummy though there is no one roll that I have to have at any moment. Bento boxes are reasonably priced, and they have a huge drink menu (longer than the food menu)......

Oh and happy hours and the bar area at nights are always super packed.

Parking in the area is horrible though FYI, so wear flats to walk far, or cab it or something.

The VERY BEST sushi in town.. The VERY BEST sushi in town. Yeah, thats an honest description. The menu is great, but they excel at their very best specialy -- sushi! Fresh and delicious, give them a tryand you won't regret it!

Great selection, always tasty. Blowfish is right around the corner from my house, so I probably go there more than I would if I had to travel from the other side of town. Each time I go, I'm astounded by the quality and selection of fish. However, I'm equally amazed that the ambiance has not been adjusted since the early 2000s. The anime and techno are no longer required, please

The worst service ever!. Very disappointed. Service is bad, very slow and very unwelcoming staff. Not worth to leave downtown for it, location is not safe either.

Will never come back and will not recommend it to anyone.

Stay away from bad service.

BAD SERVICE - Staff needs to drop the attutude!!!!!. Staff needs serious training!!! We got 'you are late for your reservation' treatment at the door with no smile or any other positive attitude.

Waitress was SLOOOOOOW and definitely not for this job. Maybe due to the economy situation she found this job to make her ends meet and failed miserable without even trying to be nice and considerate to her customers. HORRIBLE experience. It s very sad because food was not bad, but I will NEVER COME BACK and will NOT recommend this place to my friends.

Fun place. I was visiting for a conference and cabbed it out to Blowfish. The service was outstanding, with attentive but not overbearing waitress. I tried a couple of specialty mixed drinks, which were fun but not fantastic. The rolls were good and the fish was really fresh. It was a Monday night so not very crowded, but the vibe was good. The only problem was trying to get a cab back to civilization.
