Review: Galenas Piroshki is the Best I've found in stores. The best Piroshki I've had was made by a woman who had a shop in Pioneer Square in Seattle 33 years ago. The Galenas Piroshki (Beef and Cheese or Chicken and cheese?) is the closest to those that I have found. It is not as packed inside as I would like but no other comes close. The Blend of Beef and Cheese has some grease but the meat is inside the pastry so when cooking the fat has nowhere to go but stay in the meat and ooze into the pastry. I do not remember Igor's Piroshki being as good as Galenas Piroshki.

Marvel grocery & deli, a "Russian" ethnic store in Auburn, WA has had some piroshki that is probably more healthy, it seems like they pre-cook the inside ingredients then wrap the pastry around it. I do not like it nearly as well as it has the feeling of eating a soft burrito which I do not care for. But since there was no other source I still bought them.

To minimize the calories, when I eat a Galenas Piroshki I will have only one as a meal and no other foods with it other than something to drink. I will eat it slowly, enjoying the blend of the internal ingredients mixing into the pastry as I chew it.

I am looking for stores in the Auburn, Washington area that carry the Galenas Piroshki.
