This place is a hidden gem!. This place is a hidden gem! I recently had to "put-up" my brother in law, who traveled to the city at the last minute. Well, we're in the middle of a remodel and no way will he tolerate the newly refinished floors in the guestroom, so, Castle Inn to the rescue! We picked this place by location and cost and wow, every time we have guests, they staying here instead.

Compared to Motel 6. My husband and our 2 daughters stayed at the Castle Inn 2 nights. Upon arrival, before 3:00, we were not allowed to check in. After a 4 hour drive, we needed to use the restroom, but their was none. The clerk was rude and could not recommend a close facility. The property is old an dated, We checked in a couple hours later to a room with 2 queen beds. The room was very small with a bathroom not large enough to dress in. The refrigerator and tub drain didn't work. For $225 a night, I was very disapointed with the accomodations! I would not recommend or return. Pay the few extra dollars for a chain hotel close to pier 39.

All the basics for out-of-town sightseers.. In Short
This tourist- and family-friendly hotel offers a great San Francisco location. It is within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, which means the cable cars are close by. And when the cable cars are near, the city is yours. Room decor is bright, and amenities are fairly standard. Two-room family suites are available. Microwaves and refrigerators are convenient when you don't feel like blowing your entire vacation budget on meals.

The True SF Hidden Gem. Castle Inn is the perfect place to stay. It provides impeccably clean rooms with great customer service. It is located within walking distance of many culinary and tourist landmarks. After long days of leisure and activity it is always pleasant to return to the peacefulness of Castle Inn.

My visits to Castle Inn always leave me appreciating this truly valuable hidden SF gem.
