THE best. CRIS is my favorite clothing store in the Bay Area. The quality is outstanding. I also find a wonderful selection of shoes and purses. I just love her window displays. Whenever I wear clothing from CRIS, I receive many compliments. CRIS according to me is the best shop in the BAY AREA....
boutique without attitude. Have you ever felt intimidated to venture into a boutique because you weren't wearing the latest labels? Fear you'll be ignored by a turned up nose? Heaven forbid - have the nerve to ask for assistance?? Hold your head up high and forge ahead to CRIS; for the ultimate shopping experience. It all begins and ends with the incomparable owner, Cris. Women will stop by just to see what she is wearing because she has the most impeccable style and taste. To top it off, she will offer you tips and tricks to look YOUR best. (She is better than any style book or TV show!) It's hard to believe that this is a consignment boutique since most of the top designer items look brand new. (You can be certain that all of your discovered treasures come from VERY good homes!) Accesories galore, items you never dreamed would reside in your dresser or closet. You will become a devotee in no time. Paying retail will become the ultimate sin once you discover how much $ you'll save at this little treasure. After a few visits, it will be as if you are a member of an exclusive women's club. You'll find yourself repeating this mantra every morning while you're getting dressed, "What would Cris think?"
Hidden Treasure. Cris is a delightful hidden treasure on Polk street with upscale vintage pieces. I have always had a great experience here and highly recommend it!
Drive an hour and a half to shop here. I love this place. I prefer to shop here rather than some of the shops like Neimans, etc. I find more interesting, top-designer pieces here. Think Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Prada.
Consignment As it Should Be. This boutique is my first stop in SF when I am looking for something wonderful to wear-- BEFORE I hit the boutiques of Sacramento Street or Saks and Neimans on Union Square. You can't count on an exact piece, but you can be sure it will be a designer or couture piece of excellent quality and very fairly priced. I've found more than a few items here that were heavily featured runway or editorial pieces from a few seasons prior. If you can live with the "shame" of last season's Prada and willing to spend 1/4 to 1/2 of retail, you should keep Cris in your address book.
The best clothing store in the Bay Area. CRIS is my favorite clothing store in the Bay Area. The quality is outstanding: from Couture to higher end Ready to Wear - the clothing is impeccable and stylish. I also find the most amazing shoes and purses. Cris has such a wonderful sense of style - I love her window displays. Whenever I wear clothing from CRIS, I receive many compliments. For a consignment store, there is always something new and wonderful. CRIS, by far, is the best clothing store in the Bay Area.
good selection.
I like this place. It has a good selection but you do pay for it.
The shoes are the BEST!
Finally, a dignified way to afford Miu Miu purses, Prada shoes, and Chanel sunglasses..
The Scene
When window shopping on Polk Street, this shop looks more like a delicate boutique instead of a high-end consignment shop. Upon entering, the air is surprisingly fresh and the only clue that the merchandize is used is the unorganized garments and tightly packed racks. Clientele can range from 19-year-old San Franciscan transplants to a 60-year-old society wife.
The Goods
The store is jam-packed with consignment clothing, shoes, and accessories ranging from elite designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and Versace, to midtier brands like Banana Republic, Bebe, and Kenneth Cole. Other finds have included a Diane von Furstenberg camouflage slip dress for $80, a pink knee-length Fendi skirt for $60, and a strapless dress from Nicole Miller for $120. The store also carries some new merchandise from New York and L.A designers and has a small section dedicated to men's suits and causalwear.
Wow. This consignment store has not only the most beautiful variety of clothes, but a gorgeous layout. I am a consignment junkie and had passed this place up, thinking it was a full-price boutique - that's how beautifully things are displayed. The owner has fabulous taste and has amassed endless racks of couture at extremely reasonable prices. My only complaint is that when I was there, it seemed that there were much more smaller (2 - 4) and larger (10 - 12) sizes of couture - us middle sized girls in the 6 - 8 range had probably picked through a little more. However, I still hit the motherlode on two gorgeous pieces. Beautiful shop - I highly recommend a visit.
