'processed' & out the door like yesterday's news. Celebrating our 1st Anniversary, and seeing this 'local' spot, 3 blocks from home at #4 on Trip Advisor, we booked a table for the dinner seating at 645pm. We brought along a really special Tignanello, Super Tuscan, better than anything on their carte des vins. Sent 1/3 bottle with compliments to the chef..received NO acknowledgement or word of any kind on our occasion. Food? over salted and stale dungeness crab starter, poor version of risotto...salty& crunchy...service? had to ask for water for the table...non communicative waiter...maitre d'hotel/ after seating us.. became invisible...bill presented BEFORE we had finished dining... a MILL? this is a pretty dining room with a terrific location.... Value? usd125 without wine...they zapped us 25 bucks for 'beverages'...and we 'shared' with them!!! great reviews on TA got us in the door.....what's the title of that great old WHO song? 'won't get fooled again' though

always a great dinner. My wife had a tough day, so I rewarded her with dinner at our favorite-Frascati. For apetizers she ordered Gnochi which I absolutely hate-I tried it and still will not order Gnochi, but the sauce was fabulous and with the great Frascati bread, it was fun to sop up the sauce. I had the trout salad which is better than most salads but not as good as their marinated octopus salad which is worth a special trip if they have it. Main courses were great. I had the scallops which were just perfect and she had the duck which is always great. She could not finish it and we asked them to box it up. Somehow, they screwed up and tossed it, but they were really cool about it and cooked a fresh entire order to go while I had a single scoop of Prickley Pear Ice Cream. (while eating the ice cream I recounted an old story involving prickley pear and an old girl friend which made me lose all the bonus points I had gotten by taking my wife out to dinner) At the end of dinner (and the end of a lovely bottle of wine) we agreed that we had had a good night together-she is now calling me to bed, so end of review.

Delightful!. Our experience at Frascati was delightful in EVERY way. If there were a negative, it would be that the service was too fast; we would have loved to have lingered just a little longer. A great find in a great neighborhood!!

A True SF Gem. The truffle gnocchi was dressed in the best sauce I've ever had with gnocchi; not too overpowering that it drowns out the gnocchi, but definitely very flavorful. The beet salad was definitely colorful though I expected it to have more greens and be more of a salad rather than mostly beets. The scallops were huuuuge and succulent, lighly browned and paired with a vanilla sauce, which wasn't too sweet. Frascati is definitely a great find and has a relaxed, classy atmosphere.

My favorite place for great food and ambiance. Frascati is the whole package -it has great food, a great ambiance and the staff make great recommendations. I generally get the paperdelle with sugo because it's so good I can't resist. But everything else the people who dined with me get is fantastic too. Don't forget to leave room for the bread pudding at the end though - it is so fantastic!

If your sig-o has a birthday coming up - try this place - it was the best date restaurant in the city by far!
