A genial atmosphere and hearty menu mark this family-friendly Italian joint..
In Short
Despite a cozy interior, dim lighting and a fashionable Russian Hill address, this Italian restaurant is less hip, romantic hideaway than comfortable, all-ages destination. The affable owner socializes with diners and sets a friendly tone; service is casual and friendly. The menu features robust Italian fare without the bells and whistles found in many newer Italian eateries.
Best bruchetta. Great neighborhood Italian joint. Everything is fresh and tasty. I love the bruchetta there! It's the best anywhere. All the pastas are wonderful. Very nice staff, great menu, prices are reasonable too. If parking wasn't so bad, I'd go more often.
Simply the best!. This was one of my secret favorites when I lived in SF. I've just come back to visit, and I Fratelli is still a gem. It's not a "glitzy" place. Just amazing food in a friendly environment. And an amazing wine list ... outstanding tiramisu ... and a perfect location. If you only go to ONE restaurant in San Francisco, this should be the one.
Great neighborhood Joint. The pasta was amazing here! While the service and atmosphere were average, the food is delicious (although the bruschetta is garlic bread with tomatoes on top). Going to I Fratelli is a gem in an otherwise residential area.
As it should be.. lovely neighborhood place with genuine, friendly service and a warm, rustic menu. the place to take visiting friends, parents, anyone you'd like to catch up with over a good dinner.
