Cheese Plus

Great sandwiches, cheese selection and specialty food and wines. Perfect place for a hostess gift or cheese of the month club. Watch for tasting events.

There's much to love about this extraordinary cheese shop: the large assortment of cheese changes, so you can sample tons of different kinds, the sandwiches are stellar, and they make a mean cheese spread. Plus, they cater!

Horrible service. I work just 2 blocks away. The girls at my work and I really like the sandwiches at Cheese Plus; however, we can get a bigger and better sandwich in the neighborhood for equal to or less than the Cheese Plus prices. More importantly, the service is SLOW. We will call in an order, wait to walk over, and they still won't start the sandwich until we tell them that we are waiting for it. I really like the caprese sandwich, but I trick myself into going there about once every 4 - 6 months. Then, once I go, I remember how AWFUL the service is and don't return until I give them another (undeserved) chance.

absolute snobs, the staff.. Good selection of cheeses. The staff behind the counter is not very helpful with suggestions, and they seem to want you to somehow be more knowledgable than they are about their merchandise and with over a thousand choices, it is a bit daunting. Not everybody is an expert, but the selection is fabulous. I would give higher stars, but absolute snobs, the staff.

Too Pricey. Good merchandise, though overpriced. REALLY! I can get most of the merchandise cheaper even at Whole Foods.

Quite enjoyable. It is a nice place if you have a taste for Cheese. All in All it is a very enjoyable place. We went there for our breakfast and had the time of our life there.

My first choice for cheese. I happened upon Cheese Plus by accident and am thrilled to find a serious cheese shop, with a great selection of other delectables, only blocks from my houses. There's a wide variety of cheeses from around the world at good prices.

For parties and everyday shopping for cheese, bread, and other essentials it's a great choice instead of the local big market.

The owner is into organic and highest quality while being accessible as an everyday neighborhood market. Think of it as the Bi Rite for Russian Hill.

Cheese Plus Rocks. Lots of changes at this cozy corner shop on Polk and Pacific. I've shopped here for years and the they've made many great changes inside. The other day I had a sample of their new sandwiches... YUMMY! They now stock great wines and have even more great cheeses and chocolate, too! The staf is nice and knowledgeable, and always happy to offer tastes and suggestions.

Fine cheeses and gourmet food items make this Nob Hill food store a popular place to shop.. In Short
This specialty food store is a cozy, friendly independent establishment popular with neighborhood chefs. Leonard's offers an incredibly wide selection of well-priced nuts, spices by the pound, dried fruits and international cheeses. This is the place to shop if you're entertaining foodie friends. Although the offerings heavily favor Italian items (pastas, olive oils and cannellini), a serious portion of the store is dedicated to Indian, Thai and Japanese foods as well.

Wonderful discovery!. I dropped by and 3 nice men working there giving me advice about truffle oil, how to use it, types of cheeses, and pates. I sampled the truffle pate to make sure it would pair well with the wine I bought. They gave great advice and even shared a recipe! They had fantastic mustards I'd been looking for for years since my trip to France. Very nice gourmet shop with super nice employees. They weren't snotty at all as you sometimes get in gourmet shops and it's a heck of a lot closer than berkeley cheeseboard (my favorite but a hassle to get to without a car). The only downside is that they don't cut most cheeses fresh from wheel-they have them pre-cut. But they are VERY FRESH and they have an EXCELLENT selection of cheeses for any gourmet or non.
