In Short
The first Super 8 opened in Aberdeen, S.D., in 1974, charging $8.88 a night. Today, the national franchise, with its familiar red-and-yellow sign, still stands for dependable rooms at wallet-friendly prices. A staple for road-tripping families, truck drivers and tour groups, the motel offers complimentary morning coffee and continental breakfasts. Another perk for travelers: Super 8 travel cups may be refilled for free at any of the motel's locations.

There is no parking. You have to pay $$$ to park at the Cathedral Hill Hotel at Van Ness/Geary. Ancient elevator. Super tiny rooms. Porno store across the street. Due to location, lots of hobos, so be careful when you walk in the neighborhood. It is SF though, so there's really no avoiding bums. The good thing is that you are right off of Van Ness, which has lots of window shopping. Mel's Diner and Tommy's Joynt are right at the Van Ness/Geary intersection--YUM!!! Spend the time to look for another place to stay. I wouldn't stay there again.
