Tips for Cable Car Museum

Free, interesting and worth checking out!. It doesn't get any better than free, plus, you will witness the complex system of wire, mechanics and pulleys that operate the cable car system. It's unbelievable how much activity takes place to make this historic mode of transportation possible. The location is near other points of interest and the gift shop has great items of memorabilia. This a great point of interest for visitors to the city and residents alike.

A fascinating educational venue that reveals lots about San Francisco's signature mode of transportation.. In Short
The San Francisco Cable Car Museum, established in 1967 and operated by the Friends of the Cable Car Museum, Inc., is a nonprofit group dedicated to education.
The museum is located in the historic Cable Car Barn, where visitors can watch the actual cable winding machinery. A variety of trucks, grips, cable, and brake mechanisms are on display, including the world's first cable car.
