Polished English charm amid the bustle of the city..
The Scene
This sister to the Petite Auberge makes contemporary hotels feel cold and uninviting. A traditional English country look has been treated with remarkable skill. Every nook and cranny is attractive and inviting. Although it is officially a bed and breakfast, this property exhibits none of the problems that keep some travelers away from B&Bs.
The Details
Each of the 26 rooms is spacious and boasts a fireplace, refrigerator and decent-sized (if a bit dated) bathroom. You'll also find a teddy bear to "take care of" during your stay. The full buffet breakfast is more than generous, as are afternoon hors d'oeuvres, tea and wine. The lower level houses a large breakfast room opening onto a small garden, as well as a lounge and a cozy library--all three have fireplaces. In addition, the inn offers such amenities as valet parking and a small meeting room for business travelers.
