I WILL NEVER GO TO BROOKS CAMERA AGAIN and highly suggest that you don't either. I took my camera in for a simple repair (missing shutter button) and am now left with a faulty camera and $80 less in my wallet. When I got my camera back, the new shutter button was not working properly so I took the camera back in. The store employee agreed with me that the new button wasn't working correctly and sent it back to the technician to look at. After a week, I received a call from the Manager/Technician who stated that there was actually a new problem that would cost me an additional $160 to fix. (He then inconsistently quoted me $180 on a separate phone conversation.) He claimed that a sticky substance had been spilt on the camera (obviously implying that I had done it) and the camera would need to be taken apart and cleaned. As I would have remembered had I spilt anything on my camera and obviously would have taken responsibily had that been the case, I told him I was not going to pay an additional $160 for a problem that I was certain I did not cause. He was unsympathetic and continued to imply that the sticky substance was my fault and that the only option was to pay more money to get it fixed. I am appalled by their horrible customer service, ridiculous prices and this entire situation and would just like to warn all prospective customers. I have definitely learned my lesson and will never go back to Brooks again.
