In Short – A pink neon sign illuminates the entrance of this lively dive. Inside, a beach-motif prevails, with bamboo rods propping a canopy suspended above the bar area. The opposite wall is monopolized by an eye-catching mural perhaps adapted from "Puff the Magic Dragon." There are no specialty drinks or discounted specials, but all the prerequisites are present--full liquor selection and smattering of bottled beers, including Tsing Tao. – –

Best dive bar in SF

by bhageman at Citysearch

I love dive bars and this is, by far, my favorite dive bar in SF. Sketchy bar, sketchy crowd, odd neighborhood, and the funniest bartender in SF (Mark). Stiff drinks and a great jukebox complete the scene.

If Mark is not bartending, not much reason to hang out here. He makes the scene. Probably has more loyal customers than any other bartender I have ever met.

  • Pros: Great bartender, Fun, eclectic crowd, Good music
  • Cons: Not fun w/o Mark
