CHINATOWN RESTAURANT
No complaints here.

Atmosphere was average but food was good. We got the coupon from the girl on the corner like the other reviewers but actually got the discount (on the least priced item). When we first walked into the front door around 9pm there was NOBODY in the dining area. I told the family we should leave but then we saw the stairs that went upstairs. Lots of people upsairs (phew)! Give this place a try - you might like it.
Where else would you go in chinatown?

The previous review was right, they have people on the street handing out cupons, but in this part of town, everyone on the street is trying to sell you something.
Don't fall for the somewhat pushy service, enjoy the items that you want and not what they keep offering you. The food was pretty good.
The flyers they were handing out said that they were celebrating their 90th anniversary, I'm sure it's all part of the game but the place looked like it could have been older than that.
The restaurant looked safer than most in the area, and the food was definately good. Tested a good portion of the Dim Sum items and didn't find any that I didn't appreciate.
I'd eat here again if I were going to be around for a while.
- Pros: Dim Sum was good...
- Cons: Don't fall for their pushy service.

This really is a shame as I enjoyed the food, HOWEVER, I left this restaurant feeling "gotten-over-on." There are girls "recruiting" people from the sidewalks in Chinatown with coupons stating 20% off etc... My wife and I decided we would have lunch there. When the bill came, to what should've been about a $20 lunch with tip, I was handed a $32 bill. I was charged $3.50 for tea, over $4 for a tip (which I really didn't have a problem with) AND did NOT receive the 20% discount. I SPECIFICALLY asked if the discount was on my bill. "Yes, your bill included the discount." It did not. The manager, who wrote up the bill knew I had a coupon. Why would one insist on this when the bill clearly states otherwise? What was I to do, make a scene? I'm a local here, and would rather pay a little more one block over in North Beach for HONEST service rather than leave feeling scammed.
