Best outside lunch Union Square. Ok- the line can be long. But... the food is great and the staff has always been nice. On a sunny day a live jazz band plays outside- if you have the time for a long lunch it is a great spot despite $10. for a sanwhich.

Cutest place to eat downtown!!. If you work around Union Square or are shopping with the hoardes, you don't have too many food options, other than random diners (Mel's, Lori's), Subway, Cheesecake Factory, and noisy food courts. Mocca transports you out of the chaos that is downtown SF and into a little European paradise, on a quiet, blocked-off little avenue with outdoor seating. The place is tiny but they have a great selection of fresh food - all of their gourmet sandwiches are amazing, the salads are good (I like the shrimp), and there are a variety of sides like pasta salad, fresh fruit, and rolls, not to mention a great selection of Italian sodas, coffees/teas, and alcoholic beverages. There is almost always a line out the door. I'd recommend it on a sunny weekday, so you can sit outside without battling the weekend shopping crowds. REMEMBER: they only take cash!!

Located on a pedestrian-only alley, this daytime eatery oozes with a distinctly European vibe.. At lunchtime, it's not uncommon to find a substantial line of hungry downtown professionals and Union Square shoppers extending from this Italian café's deli counter into Maiden Lane. Congregated at tables in the establishment's narrow dining room or lounging in umbrella-covered outdoor seats, patrons dine on offerings like the marinated tri-tip sandwich served on crusty bread and freshly prepared tortellini prawn salad.

Great Food. We happened to see their outdoor seating area from Union Square and wonder over. Their food looked great so ordered some. The looks did not lie! The seafood salad and roast beef sandwitch were great. Great place for a quick lunch.

Great lunch spot!. If you work anywhere around Union Square, find this gem that is tucked into Maiden Lane and try it. I promise it is worth the hunt.

The salads and sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. I've tried a large chunk of their menu and have never been disappointed.

If you've never liked tuna, but want to give it a shot, try their tuna salad. It is to die for! It's not mayonaissy or greasy. It's a completely different approach. That goes for their other salads.
