Great Neighborhood Restaurant – This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. It has a warm and cozy neighborhood vibe. Since they do not take reservations it can be a little bit of a wait but it is worth it because the food is consistantly great. Complimentary bread is usually brought once seated and they bake a wonderful foccacia so try and get that if you can. Prices are ok. I definately recommend it.
romatic little restaurant – with a French look !
Food should be italian but not 100% athentic.
Clam linguine had no fresh "clam" and where flavourless. Ravioli with pesto kind of greasy but still ok. Prices are moderate. I would reccomend it for a romantic date.
My new favorite restaurant! – The Nob Hill Cafe is cute and charming, the service was polite and attentive, and the food was affordable and delicious. I will definitely be going back!
Nob Hill locals crowd into this cozy cafe for solid versions of Italian favorites. – The Scene
One side of Nob Hill Cafe is a bright, bustling room with an open kitchen along one wall, while the other side is a subdued, dark-green refuge with the candlelit romance of an intimate Roman cafe. A jazz or opera soundtrack heightens the ambience.
The cafe turns out Italian standards with aplomb. Caesar salad is lightly dressed, and a big insalata calamari is loaded with tender marinated squid, Tuscan white beans, capers and red onion. Other appetizers: Eggplant with feta cheese and a creamy baked polenta. Pasta dishes include chicken parmigiana with penne, garlicky linguine with clams, delicate gnocchi and a creamy mushroom ravioli special--all hit the mark. A great calamari steak with caper and white-wine sauce is both meaty and tender. Tiramisu and creme caramel are well-done, but for added decadence, try chocolate ganache served in a martini glass.
Great neighborhood restaurant – One of our favorite restaurants in SF. Food is great, service is always really friendly, prices are affordable, and atmosphere is comfortable and neighborhood-y. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. I've mainly tried the pasta dishes - only one that was not so good was the linguini with clam sauce.
Worth the Wait – This is one of our favorite restaurants in SF. Their Veal Picatta and Carpaccio are excellent! They don't take reservations but that's never been a problem for us. Nob Hill Cafe has a very charming atmosphere and excellent service. I've never been disappointed. We go here every year for Valentine's Day Dinner.
busy evenings – One cannot make a reservation for dinner and service is a little slow but the food is quite good. Prices are moderate.
An Exquisite Evening in Nob Hill – My first trip ever to San Francisco, my husband and I were treated to great food and friendly service at the Nob Hill Cafe. On a busy Friday night, while waiting for our table, we were served wine by their friendly host who had the most geniune smile. And our meal was delicious. Our waitress was so attentive and recommended some great pastas and we enjoyed them. I can't wait to go back.
