Severe Disappointment. Service was slow and unprofessional, I ended up having to go behind the bar myself to get a glass of water. Food was poorly prepared and had been left sitting out for too long. Buffet selection was poorly presented and very limited. At $14.95 per person, I would have expected a lot more.
All you can eat Dim Sum. they have a buffet for $9 weekdays and $11 weekends, the buffet looked kind of scary but then they came around with all the fresh steamed dim sum on little carts and it was all included in the buffet so we got it. we didnt really eat anything from the buffet but all the dim sum from the little carts was quite good and i think the price was reasonable for all you can eat.
Great Hong Kong food. The seafood in this restaurant is great. The fish soup is yummy and healthy. There are various cooking types of crabs. The salty and pepper one is especially good. Very authentic Hong Kong style food.
Not enough customers. I took a peek around lunchtime and only found less than 20 people dining. Nobody was in the buffet. They advertised more than 30 dimsum selections, but I only saw less than 10. The food didn't look fresh. It looked like it had been sitting for a while. It probably did since they was little takers. When I go to a buffet, I make sure there are lots of people dining as this is an indication that the food was freshly prepared.
The Quest for good Dim Sum..
While wandering around SF's Chinatown looking for a hearty Dim Sum brunch, we were fortunate enough to stumble onto Golden Dragon.
The food was excellent. A wide variety of Dim Sum treats, all very tasty.
If you're a fan of Dim Sum I recommend this one highly.
Authentic Chinese Dim-Sum. Golden Dragon may not be the cleanest restaurant or have the best service, but it is a great place to get dim-sum on a weekend afternoon. The food is excellent and the price is well below some of the more upscale dim-sum spots around SF. I've been to numerous dim-sum restaurants in SF and the Bay Area but I always come back to Golden Dragon each and every time.
